Bodybuilding is a planned and continuous process of hypertrophy, muscle definition and body symmetry of the system.

Bodybuilding beginnings date back to the 19th century, when it began growing interest in muscular appearance of the body modeled on the ancient Greeks. On training in the gym, performing the exercises with weights and machines specially designed with the aim of stimulating the growth of muscle mass. For the growth and repair of muscle is very important diet with enough calories, with many small meals throughout the day to boost metabolism, facilitating the absorption of food and maintain a steady blood sugar level. Proteins are responsible for the growth and repair of muscle, and carbs compensate the energy loss due to training. They are commonly used nutritional supplements such as protein concentrate powder, vitamin supplements, omega-3 fatty acids, creatine, and various amino acids such as glutamine. In competitions, judges assess muscle mass, muscle definition, symmetry, proportion, and on stage.
